Oracle Cerner RevElate Common Questions and Implementation Tips

Oracle Cerner RevElate Implementation Tips

With healthcare organizations looking to streamline Revenue Cycle Management workflows and integrate clinical and financial data, many Oracle Cerner clients are considering RevElate, and asking if, and when, the solution will be available for implementation.

As announced in late 2021, Oracle Cerner RevElate Patient Accounting merges Millennium’s patient accounting features, including intake, scheduling, and eligibility, with Soarian’s backend for comprehensive billing, claims, processing, and adjudication.

The promise of RevElate is an integrated and scalable front-office to back-office experience with more automation and improved usability for patients, providers, and staff. As experts in all things Oracle Cerner, we have put together this blog to answer some of your questions about RevElate’s features and status.

What is the current status of RevElate's rollout?

As of this writing, BayCare Health System, Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) and CoxHealth are the beta clients implementing RevElate. Baycare completed its Pilot Site Phases as of January 2023 and will have a full rollout this Fall, while CAMC and CoxHealth are both set for Go-Live later this year.

Although no firm date has been set for a wider rollout, Oracle Cerner is anticipating RevElate to be generally available in the coming weeks.

What are the timelines and implementation considerations for current Oracle Cerner clients?

The long-term vision for Oracle Cerner is to move clients to a unified platform that integrates the company’s current suite of clinical and financial products. Millennium customers using Soarian or Siemens Invision for RCM today should understand that those solutions and their functions will eventually be subsumed into a singular platform over time.

Millennium clients with Soarian or Siemens contracts will need to implement RevElate or move from Oracle Cerner to another solution altogether. The timeline for these decisions will vary for different customers depending on their contracts as well as guidance from Oracle Cerner regarding continued support for these products.

While Oracle Cerner anticipates RevElate general availability in Spring 2023, it is unknown if/when Millennium Patient Accounting and Soarian Patient Accounting will sunset.

Clients anticipating a move to RevElate should, at minimum, begin implementation planning, inclusive of data preparation steps that can be taken in advance of an eventual project.

Because Oracle Cerner CommunityWorks customers already sit on a SaaS platform, their considerations are different. RevElate will simply roll out to these customers as a future update to the CommunityWorks solution, although timing is unknown.
