Into The Wild: A Photo Recap of Epic UGM 2018

This year’s EPIC UGM conference was a breath of fresh air, where Healthcare IT professionals from around the country gathered to survey the change of landscape in healthcare. “The Great Outdoors” was the theme of the annual user group meeting in Verona, Wisconsin and attendees definitely felt like they were back at summer camp with the tents, picnic tables, and farm animals. Two attendees even spotted a wolf dressed in a suit!

Presenters, speakers, and attendees explored the changing landscape of healthcare and the role Epic will play in the evolution of health technology. True to form, Epic CEO and Founder, Judy Faulkner, dressed up to match this year’s theme for her executive address. She wore a brown Girl Scout uniform, a ranger hat, and duck boots. Faulkner discussed how hospitals and healthcare organizations can stay afloat in today’s industry. This year, she emphasized her vision of a single shared network of health data across a global network of healthcare systems and gave more details on how the company is looking to solve interoperability with their new Epic program, Cosmos.
