Kate Dunn, Senior Director of Epic RCM consulting, has spent her career working to improve the patient experience through revenue cycle solutions.
Kate started on the vendor side, and then transitioned to hospitals, where she implemented revenue cycle solutions as a build analyst and later, as a Program Director.
At Greenville (SC) Health System, she managed Epic Cadence, Prelude/ADT, Resolute Hospital and Professional Billing and HIM implementation teams through build, testing and implementation of Epic and Third-Party Applications over two go-live phases for five hospitals and over 185 physician practices, clinics and Urgent Care Centers.
She then moved to consulting, using her knowledge and experience to help clients implement and optimize all aspects of Epic Revenue Cycle.
“I think what I enjoy most about working in Healthcare Revenue Cycle is that it’s the beginning and the end for a patient’s clinical experience. We have the opportunity to create a very positive experience with the patient at the beginning that leads to a more positive clinical experience for the patient.”
When it comes to consulting, Kate offers a straight-forward recipe for success: “My approach is first and foremost, to make sure that we clearly understand the client's needs."
"Secondly, I help ensure that Healthcare IT Leaders matches that client's needs with experienced resources. And thirdly, that we have a successful outcome for our clients.”
As leader of our firm’s Epic RCM practice, Kate wants clients to know that Healthcare IT Leaders can deliver what it promises.
“I want people to know that we have experienced resources in the Epic Revenue Cycle space. Consultants who can lead implementations or optimizations or who can come in on an advisory role and help operations with workflows.
“We have the client's goal in mind,” she says. “We have the resources that can do it. And collaboratively, we can help the client reach their goal.”
